Our Mission

  

The Post Traumatic Growth Project (PTGP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals and communities to experience positive change after life's challenges and traumas. We achieve this by focusing on Post Traumatic Growth (PTG) theory and research, helping people find strength and growth in the face of adversity. Our goal is to reduce suicide rates by providing individual with the tools and support they need to overcome trauma and find hope.

 Board member Ruth Gerritsen-McKane received her PhD in Social Work from the University of Utah. She completed post-doc training from Harvard University in Global Mental Health Trauma and Recovery. Ruth has presented globally on multiple issues and is currently engaged in a longitudinal study in Tanzania. She has also worked in the addict

Ruth has presented globally on multiple issues and is currently engaged in a longitudinal study in Tanzania. She has also worked in the addiction field for over 20 years.  Currently, she is the Director of MSW Field Education and Associate Professor in the MSW Program at Regis College, located in Weston, MA.

Anrico Delray is a dedicated board member of the Post-Traumatic Growth Project, a non-profit organization. He is a retired United States Probation Officer with a rich professional background that includes program development within the juvenile and adult justice systems and experience  as a Youth Corrections Case Manager, Emergency Medica

Anrico Delray is a dedicated board member of the Post-Traumatic Growth Project, a non-profit organization. He is a retired United States Probation Officer with a rich professional background that includes program development within the juvenile and adult justice systems and experience  as a Youth Corrections Case Manager, Emergency Medical Technician, and Volunteer Fireman. Anrico’s personal history is deeply intertwined with his professional life, having faced tragic death and traumatic experiences firsthand. His commitment to supporting others through their journeys of healing and resilience is driven by both his extensive career in public service and his own experiences with trauma.

Hugh D. Watt, MSW, LCSW, is a survivor of childhood sex abuse and the loss of a brother to addiction and suicide. As a therapist for more than twenty-five years, and a federal Probation Officer for more than 19 years. Hugh has developed his Trial Action Path or (TAP) Viewpoint to help thousands of people grow resilient after trials in th

 

Hugh D. Watt, MSW, LCSW, is a survivor of childhood sex abuse and the loss of a brother to addiction and suicide. As a therapist for more than twenty-five years, and a federal Probation Officer for more than 19 years. Hugh has developed his Trial Action Path or (TAP) Viewpoint to help thousands of people grow resilient after trials in their lives.  He has been certified as a Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) peer support member for law enforcement. He is the author of the Trial Tappers Self-Help book series and YouTube creator with thousands of followers. He has been married for more than 30 years and has three sons.
